From performing the state of Florida’s first kidney transplant in 1966 to being ranked as one of the nation’s top hospitals for pediatric cardiology and heart surgery in 2018, the UF Health Shands Transplant Center has always used the best care and expertise possible to support our patients and their families before and after a transplant.

Our ability to stay on the leading edge of research has allowed our center to become an industry leader in transplant medicine, and our transplant teams have performed more than 1,100 heart transplants, 600 lung transplants and 4,800 kidney transplants.
