Katrina has been a member of the UF Health marketing team since 2012 and serves as marketing and communications specialist for the University of Florida Department of Surgery.  She creates and implements marketing and advertising plans for each division within the department of surgery including general surgery, transplantation surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, thoracic and cardiovascular surgery, vascular surgery and endovascular therapy, and pediatric surgery. She works closely with other UF Health Communications team members in marketing, news and publications, web services, creative services and strategic communications to provide the best possible exposure, resources and outreach for her clients. She also manages the team’s internship program. Katrina previously served as an account executive at an advertising agency, where she managed multiple local and state advertising budgets, including the City of Gainesville RTS, Haven Hospice, North Florida Retirement Village, Florida Department of Health, Florida Animal Friend, Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Florida Department of Elder Affairs. She holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations with a minor in advertising from Flagler College. Outside of UF Health, Katrina serves on the board for the Alachua County Humane Society and is passionate about animal rescue and welfare. She also loves listening to and seeing live music and is married to a graphic designer by day/drummer by night.
