As director of Strategic Communications for UF Health, Michelle works closely with the UF Health Communications leadership team, providing strategic direction for our internal communications program; leading our strategic communications planning efforts; working collaboratively to develop and implement our approach and response for issues and crises; and developing our emergency communications response plan, serving as the system public information officer in the hospital’s incident command center.

Michelle joined the Strategic Communications team in 2017 as the assistant director of Strategic Communications and served as editor of News+Notes, the UF Health Shands internal newsletter, for two years. This is Michelle’s second stint with UF Health, having worked on the Marketing and PR team for Shands HealthCare.

She previously served in PR and marketing roles with Exactech, Inc., and was the Director of Marketing for another area hospital. Michelle holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Florida and APR accreditation from the Florida Public Relations Association and the Public Relations Society of America.
