Stroke Center receives certification

Stroke Center receives Joint Commission certification

In November, the UF Health Shands Comprehensive Stroke Center was officially certified by The Joint Commission. Comprehensive stroke center certification recognizes hospitals that have state-of-the-art infrastructure, experienced staff and specialized training to receive and treat all patients, including those with the most complex strokes. At the celebration event on Nov. 17, members of the stroke team and their supporters and co-workers gathered in the UF Health Shands Hospital Atrium to recognize the outstanding efforts of everyone involved. Senior leaders recognized the stroke center faculty and staff and a former stroke patient shared her story.
