Kim Rose

UF Health Communications, Strategic Communications Director

Kim has spent 20-plus years writing, editing and developing strategic communications programs and campaigns. Her team supports UF Health with system communications. They’re like an in-house PR agency providing internal, business, public affairs and issues/crisis communications. Her superhero teammates: Laura Castro (communications coordinator, Nacuya Lewis (communications specialist) and Todd Taylor (communications coordinator and editor) plus UF College of Journalism students and PR interns Courtney Grigsby and Jaclyn Scott. In a previous life, Kim was assistant director for Shands HealthCare Marketing and PR. Before that, she coordinated arts programs and festivals for the City of Gainesville Division of Cultural Affairs, including the fall Downtown Festival & Art Show and the Hoggetowne Medieval Faire (luckily, she is bi-lingual in American and British English). She’s active with the International Association of Business Communicators and co-produces/co-hosts the IABC Southern Region’s SPARK webinar series. Kim has been a board member of the Florida Hospital Association’s communications association. She volunteers as the City of Gainesville/Alachua County Senior Recreation Center Advisory Council co-founder and chair. She holds a journalism degree from UF.
